It's rare that one person is truly and wholeheartedly loved by so many. Luckily my sister U'kendra was one such person. She had a smile that could light up a room, and beauty that caught everyone's attention. But besides the outer qualities she was beautiful inside as well. She was sincere, fun loving, extremely talented and had a sense of humor that made everyone laugh. Its strange now not seeing her lying in the bed across the room, talking on her cell phone from morning til night, or even playing loud music. But I can only hold on to the thought of one day knowing I'll be able to take care of my little sister again, but until then she'll be the big sister and watch over me.

A celebration of U'Kendra's life will be held at Lake Merrit Methodist Church, 1330 Lakeshore Avenue, Oakland, CA on Friday, February 22, 2002 at 11:00 A.M.
