Marvyn Chinn MARVYN CHINN Passed away at Summit Hospital in Oakland on Friday, August 22, 2003 after a courageous battle against cancer. Son of his late parents, Howard Ock and Sarah Jan Chinn, he is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Bonita Jayne (Chan) Chinn, and their two dear children, Jason Keith (24) and Sarah Michelle (19). Marvyn also leaves behind his sister, Sylvia Chinn Chow (Milton), and three brothers, Anthony (Janice), Tyrone (LaWanda) and Kennedy Chinn. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. He will also be missed by his loyal and trusted golden retriever, Dusti. A 53 year-old native of Oakland, Marvyn graduated from Oakland High School in 1968. He was always a natural at everything he did, excelling in athletics and as a student of White Crane Kung Fu for over 30 years. Marvyn worked at the naval Air Station in Alameda for 23 years, during which he held many positions including machinist and tool designer. Following the closure of the base, he worked at AT&T as a Communications Technician. Marvyn was a true and dedicated family man. His hobbies included working on his Hot Rod and spending quality time attending his children's sporting events. Friends and family are invited to the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland on Thursday, August 28, 2003 for a Visitation from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held the following morning on Friday, August 29 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
