Pamela King, 64, passed from this life on July 6, 2008 in Livermore, CA.
A life-long resident of Northern California, she was born on March 5th 1944,
to Hazel and Edward Gordon in Oakland, CA. She resided in Livermore for 32 years.
She is survived by her mother, daughter, her beloved cat CiCi, friends, and
all of those that had the joy to have met her. Those who had the opportunity to have met Pamela
know that they were truly blessed. They will always have precious memories of her gentle soul,
kind and gracious demeanor and caring interest in others. Pamela always had a smile through her
journey of life.
An employee of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for 28 years, her
long career at the Lab was part of a family legacy. Her father had worked at the Lab for 25
years before his retirement in 1977. Pamela retired from the Lab in 2006, but made many of
her longest and dearest friendships while working there.
Pamela deeply loved cats, squirrels, birds, laughter, music and her
friends. She was an avid collector of sea shells and loved the ocean. Mostly, she loved spending
time with friends and family.
Pamela's daughter, Ms. Leah King, will deeply miss the presence of such an extraordinary
woman in her life. She is forever grateful to have been Pamela's daughter.
Pamela was a gift to us all and will be truly missed.
Her ashes will be scattered at sea, off the coast of Santa Cruz.
