George John HESSELSCHWERDT Age 65 years, passed away suddenly in Kent, WA, on January 31, 2008. Born to Carl and Helen Hesselschwerdt on November 20, 1942 in Spokane, WA; he moved with his family to Oakland, CA where he grew up attending St. Jarlath Catholic School and Oakland High School. He left to join the Navy in 1959, serving as an electrician. He was honor ably discharged in 1964 after serving in the Vietnam Conflict aboard The Bon Homme Richard. He received the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Vietnam) and the National Defense Service Medal. He is survived by his ex-wife Sandy, two daughters Shauna and Sharla, four grandchildren and his sister Carol. He spent the last 20 years owning and operating a fire and burglar alarm busi ness in Federal Way, Des Moines and Kent, WA, where he gathered and main tained a close group of very caring friends. Arrangements are under the direction of Cady Cremation Services of Kent, WA and Burial will be at St. Helena, CA. A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
