Donald Knut Anderson 07-13-1942~02- 6- 2010 With great sadness we say good-bye to our dear husband, loving and supportive father and great friend - DKA, Donnie Baby, The Big Kahuna. Words simply cannot capture the spirit of Donald Anderson. He built his career and lived his life with honesty, integrity and respect. Born and raised in Oakland, CA, he was proud to continue his father's legacy at Eric F. Anderson, Inc. for 50 years. He was an icon in the construction industry -- a long time member and past president of the Builder's Exchange of Alameda County. He received the W.E. "Bill" Lyons Founders Award in 2002, the highest honor given in recognition of his contributions to the construction industry. Always curious and interested in learning new things, Don baked bread, brewed beer and made beautiful clocks. His favorite thing to do was fly fishing with his "warm, close, personal friends". He loved skiing, a member of the National Ski Patrol for 15 years, and trap shooting. He was, and will be in memory always, a dear and loyal friend, a big man with a big heart and an unfailing sense of humor. Above all, a man who loved his family deeply. He is survived by his cherished wife Leona, daughters Anne-Marie and Kristin (Tim), granddaughter Madeline, brothers David (Janet) and George (Diane) and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 16 at 11:00am at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave, Oakland, CA 94611, (510) 654-0123. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony's Dining Room at 55 Jones Street, San Francisco, CA 94102, (415)241-2690, www.stanthonysf.org.
