Private services have been held for Colin Currie Wilson of Novato, a teacher at the Mill Valley Middle School.

Wilson died at his home Wednesday, He was 38.

A native of San Francisco, he was raised in Hayward and Oakland. He was a graduate of Oakland High School and San Francisco State University where he received a teaching credential in 1969.

He taught in San Jose for one year and then took his current job at the middle school in 1970. He specialized in science and mathematics.

While in Marin County, he has lived in Lagunitas and Mill Valley besides Novato where he has lived for four years.

He served in the Marine Corps Reserve.

He was previously also a Boy Scout leader.

Survivors include his wife, Hellen M. Wilson of Novato; his parents, Raymond and Helen Wilson of Oakland; and two brothers, Dent Wilson of Oakland and Keith Wilson of Guerneville.
