SEPTEMBER 7, 1941 - MARCH 28, 2010 Mary Helen Gorman, 68, of Canoga Park, California, died March 28, 2010 in Kailua-Kona, Hawai'i. She was born in Honolulu, Hawai'i to George and Virginia (Tiernan) McFarland. Mary married Alfred "Jim" Gorman in Oakland, California, on May 9, 1964. Mary worked as a second grade teacher for seven years and then became a caterer. She is survived by her husband, Jim; children, David (Debbie) Gorman of Ormond Beach, Florida, and Heather (Ben) Turner of Rancho Santa Fe, California; and four grandchildren. Private Services were held. Arrangements were made by A Hui Hou Crematory & Funeral Home of West Hawaii. In lieu of flowers, Jim and his family have selected two charities for consideration. The first is "The Nature Conservancy" because of Mary's passion for conservation. The second is "Visitor Aloha Society of Hawai'i" b ecause of Mary's love of Hawai'i and the support they provided.
