Eric "Rick" Borgwardt

Eric Borgwardt H. Eric "Rick" Borgwardt 1938-2010 Hans Eric "Rick" Borgwardt died of heart failure February 14, 2010 in Davies Memorial Hospital in San Francisco. He was 72 years old and resided in the City the last 35 years. He leaves behind his husband Chris Pagni, sisters-in-law Joan Borgwardt and Ermie Borgwardt, nephews and nieces and their families all living in Contra Costa County. His brothers Norman and Wes preceded him in death. Rick was born in Oakland February 8, 1938 to Hans and Rose Borgwardt. He graduated from Oakland High School. He earned a degree in Urban Planning from San Francisco State College in 1960. He worked as a planner for Kern County, Napa County, the city of Sausalito, and lastly Marin County. He was a Board Member of the Bay Area Electric Railroad Association, editor of the Association's newsletter THE REVIEW, for over 25 years and an active volunteer at the Association's Western Railway Museum. Funeral services are scheduled at 1:30 PM, Thursday, February 25th, at Shiloh Church, 2795 Shiloh Road, Suisun City, CA. Internment will follow in the church within sight of the Museum's operating trackage. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Western Railway Museum, 5848 State Hwy. 12, Suisun City, CA 94585, are preferred.
