Brenda Bieri ORINDA (AP) -- Three guns, ammunition and homemade silencers for the weapons were found in the car of one of two peorsons killed in a head-on collision near Orinda Thursday night, the Highway Patrol reported.

Officers said they found a 38-caliber revolver stuck in Edward ivan Gardner's belt when they examined his body after the crash. A sawed-off .22 rifle and another unaltered .22 rifle were found in the back seat with the ammunition and silencers.

Gardner, 37, a Richmond tool-and-die plant foreman, was alone when his car and one driven by Floyd Bieri, 49, of Moraga collided in the rain.

Bieri's daughter, Brenda Lou Ashland, 24, was also killed. Bieri was hospitalized at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Walnut Creek with leg and head injuries.
