Terry McIlraith, 69, on July 5, 2003, of Lafayette, CA, was killed with his brother,
Stuart, in the crash of a small plane in Wisconsin.
Terry was a loving husband for nearly 39 years to his wife, Vivian, and a tremendous father for his sons, Todd and Mark.
He attended U.C. Berkeley for undergraduate and graduate degrees, earning a masters of science in mechanical engineering.
He served in the army after the Korean War, stationed in Germany. Terry was a mechanical and nuclear engineer for PG&s;E for 22 years
then retired to devote time to family, the church, and his hobbies (which included planes, antique cars, and sailing).
Terry had a strong faith, and was an active elder and deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley.
As a boy, Terry was a Boy Schout in Troop 50 in Oakland. He later was scout-master for Troop 243 in Lafayette
and was a president of the Valley Pilots Flying Club at Buchanan Field in Concord.
Terry is survived by his wife, Vivian, his two sons, Mark and Todd, his daughters-in-law, Paige and Marlo and three grandchildren.
His memorial service was Saturday, July 12, at First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley, 2407 Dana Street.
