Dee Gurule (Forsythe) (Evernden)
Joined her Heavenly Father on April 21, 2005. Born in Valdez, Colorado, to Joe T. and Mary V. Gurule February 4, 1934, she was 71. She grew up in Oakland and graduated from Oakland High School in 1952. Before moving to Fremont in 1987, she lived in Cupertino, where she co-owned Advance Engineering, Applied Pyrotection and raised her family. She was an active member of the Peninsula Bible Church, Palo Alto, Calif.
After moving to Fremont, she became an active member of the Fremont First Assembly of God Church and founded Gorgeous Ruffled Curtains and Draperies in Fremont. Dee touched many lives by leading a women's Bible study group in her home, co-founding and leading the Breast Cancer Support Group of Fremont First Assembly of God, and initiating the church's Alpha Program, an evangelical outreach organization, with her husband, Tom. She enjoyed reading the Bible, discipling and singing with her sisters Carol and Roberta in the "Praise Sisters Trio." She also volunteered her time at the Crisis Pregnancy Center in Union City and with the Red Cross during the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.
Beloved wife of Tom Evernden, M.D., of Fremont, Calif., and the loving mother of Tom Forsythe of Danville, Calif., and wife, Birdie, and Deanna Forsythe of San Jose, Calif. She is also survived by five loving stepchildren. She was the devoted grandmother to three granddaughters: Jennifer Clark, and Melanie and Jacklyn Forsythe. She is survived by five sisters, Leola Bernacil of Livermore, Calif., Carol Du Priest of Lockeford, Calif., Martie Dunham of La Verne, Calif., Marie Cabral of Stocton, Calif., and Roberta Bulmer of Galt, Calif., and three brothers, Anthony Gurule of Albuquerque, N.M., Ben Gurule of Castro Valley, Calif., and John Gurule, also of Castro Valley, Calif. She was preceded in death by her brothers Robert and Michael Gurule.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Dee's life Monday, April 25, 2005, at 7 p.m. at the Fremont First Assembly of God Church, 4760 Thornoton Avenue in Fremont.
