Barbara Jean Hixson Truex, 69, moved on to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 31, 2003. Barbara was a long time friend and resident of Oakland, CA. She was a graduate of Oakland High School, Class of '51 and a valued employee of the Oakland Unified School District.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband Paul of 37 years, and mother of four sons, Wesley, Jeffrey and his wife and Joseph and Michael. Loving sister of Ray Hixson and wife. Also survived by niece, Cindy Lopez, nephews, Will and Sean Hixson along with many other great nieces.

A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at the Redwood Chapel Community Church, 19300 Redwood Rd., Castro Valley on Monday, June 9, 2003 at 10:00 a.m.

Friends are invited to a reception following the service.

A memorial fund will be established in Barbara's name for the American Red Cross. For further details, please contact the family.
