Lois E. Andersen LOIS E. OVER (ANDERSEN) Age 74. Died at home in San Leandro on July 14, 2004. Class valedictorian, Oakland High (1947) and graduate of U.C. Berkeley (1951). She was an elementary school teacher at Lazear School, Oakland and Winton Grove School, Hayward. She tutored elementary school students privately in reading and math at home for many years. Founder of Bay Area Historic House Museums, a networking group. First woman president of the Hayward Historic Society and enthusiastic researcher and editor of Hayward history publications. Assistant curator and promotions director for HAHS Museum for 16 years. Best known for her creative ideas and devoted efforts for over 25 years at the McConaghy House as an active docent and promotion director. Her loving efforts included thematically decorating the McConaghy House at Christmas and Easter and the antique show at the McConaghy House. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Robert Over, and her parents, Arthur Roy and Eunice Andersen.

She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Oppenheimer of San Jose; grandchildren, Heather Gandsey of Venice, CA, Nicole Oppenheimer of San Diego and Alex Oppenheimer of San Jose; sister, Audrey Thoreson and her husband, Lowell of Camino, CA; nephew, Paul Thoreson and his wife, Judy of Camino, CA, Keith Sanchez; son of her niece, the late Julie Sanchez and his wife, Jennifer of Auburn, CA.
