William Ryan "Bill" Sibbett

Bill Sibbett William "Bill" Ryan Sibbett went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 29, 2011, at the age of 85.

He was born in Oakland, Calif., on July 11, 1926, and attended Oakland High School. He then served in the Navy during World War II before graduating from University of California at Berkeley with a degree in electrical engineering.

Bill married Eleanor Gaines in 1949 and they had five children. He worked nearly his entire career for the S&s;C Electric Company.

Bill shared his love and enthusiasm for sailing with his children, primarily on San Francisco Bay and the Sacramento Delta.

Bill remarried in 1984 to Beverly McGovern, his dear love for the remainder of his life. They retired to Florence, Ore., in 1989 and lived there for 15 years before moving to Klamath Falls.

Survivors include his beloved sister Shirley Thorne; his first wife; his five children, Anne Spies, Wm. R. Sibbett V, Scott Sibbett, Donald Sibbett, and Jane Moore Sibbett and their spouses. Other survivors include Bev and his step-children, Crissy McGovern Williams, Greg McGovern, Mark McGovern, and Tracey McGovern; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill SibbettA memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Klamath Falls.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Klamath-Lake Counties Food Bank or the Food Pantry at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
