BARBARA MARIE MACCHITELLI Resident of Fremont for 45 years, entered into rest on January 27, 2008 at the age of 81. Predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Giovanni Macchitelli, her parents, Armin & Marie Hartman, her brother, Richard Hartman and her beloved dog, Daisy. Devoted mother to Steve Macchitelli of Fremont and Nina Hoffar and her husband, Jack of Marysville. Cherished grandmother to Brian Macchitelli, Rebecca Macchitelli, and Matthew Hoffar. Dear mother-in-law to Cari Macchitelli. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born October 11, 1926 in Oakland, Barbara was a graduate of Oakland High class of 1944. During WWII she was a volunteer with the Red Cross Gray Ladies. Prior to marriage she worked at Capwells & Oakland Dean Whitter. After marriage she was a devoted mother and housewife. She also worked for the Tech Fed Credit Union in San Jose before retiring in 1992.

A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 16, in Pacific Grove. The family asks that you consider making a donation to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Processing Center, P.O.
