Virginia Mitchell

VIRGINIA DAVIS, A 47-year San Leandro resident, died peacefully June 6, 2002. A third generation Californian, Virginia was born in Oakland and graduated from Oakland High. She was a retired employee of the San Lorenzo School District, working many years in the typing room at Marina High School. She enjoyed quilting, cross-stitch and volunteering at the White Elephant Sale and Dunsmuir House. She was a world traveler who loved to vacation with her family in Hawaii. Her mother, Nell Mitchell and husband, Jack Davis, preceded her in death. She will be missed by her children and their spouses, Michele and Dan Eyde of Pleasanton and Paul and Jane Davis of San Leandro. She was a wonderful grandmother to Colin, Rebecca and Caroline Davis, and Ashley, Virginia, Matthew and Lauren Eyde. She will be missed by many dear friends. A memorial service will be held on June 29 at 1 p.m. at Grissom's Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo.
