GLADYS MARY HATHAWAY (GLAZIER) Passed away at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek on Monday, April 26, 2004. Mrs. Hathaway was a 3rd generation resident of the Bay Area, being born in Oakland on May 26, 1924 and a resident of Alameda for over 55 years. A life member of the First Presbyterian Church in Oakland, a graduate of Oakland High School and U.C. Berkeley with an Economics degree. A former 20-year employee of the Bureau of Electricity, Alameda. Gladys is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Wood Hathaway. Devoted mother of Susan (Larry) Hengl, Steven (Gloria) Hathaway and Sherry Birkestrand; grandmother of Laura and Lisa Hathaway, Tyler, Todd, Scott and Sarah Birkestrand, Nicholas and Andrew Hengl. Also survived by her brother Robert (Betty) Glazier and the late Edward and Harold Glazier. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Friday, April 30, at 10 a.m. at Greer Family Mortuary, 2694 Blanding Avenue, Alameda.
