Dorothy V. Quarello 1924 - 2008

Dorothy V. Quarello of San Leandro, entered peacefully into God's hands on October 13, 2008. She was born and raised in Oakland, CA. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Peter G. Quarello. Cherished mother of Carol Bowen (James), Sharon Varga (Laszlo). Precious and devoted Nonna to Michael Laszlo Varga; he was the "apple of her eye". Godmother to Michael Cozzens. Best friend of Bernice Arnerich. Survived by many cousins and close friends. She will be missed by her loving caregiver, Rosetta Hooks.

Graduated from Oakland High in 1941 and then attended Healds Business College. Worked for the US Naval Air Station, Naval Facility and Presidio for 15 years. Secretary for Jacopetti and Cristofaro Insurance Brokers. Member of YLI, Gleason and Noel Institutes for over 60 years. Volunteered at Physician's Community and San Leandro Hospitals until her death. Enjoyed traveling, knitting, shopping and being surrounded by her family.

Services will be held at Santos Robinson Mortuary, 160 Estudillo Ave, San Leandro, CA. Visitation hours from 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 16, 2008; with a rosary starting at 7:30 P.M. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Church of the Assumption, 1100 Fulton Avenue, San Leandro, CA. Burial services immediately following at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 26320 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA.
