Stanley G. Jackson April 1, 1923 ~ Dec. 24, 2008

Resident of Pleasant Hill Stan passed peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday morning, December 24, 2008, at the age of 85. He was born in Los Angeles, CA, to Irene and Erskine Jackson. They moved to Marin County when he was two, where he resided until his early teens. He graduated from Oakland High School in 1941. His studies at UC Berkeley were interrupted by WWII, during which he served as a Navy fighter pilot based on the carrier Hancock in the South Pacific.

Stan retired from real estate marketing and development following a lengthy career in the insurance field. Golf was his passion. He was an active member of SIR Branch 146 for many years.

He is survived by his two children, Gregory Jackson of Portland, Oregon, and daughter Jan Mattos of Martinez; grandchildren Michael O'Guinn, Joanne Jackson and Sarah Jackson; and his wife of 22 years, Maya. Services will be held Friday, January 9th at 1pm at the Unity Center of Walnut Creek, 1871 Geary Road, Walnut Creek.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Chateau and Sutter Hospice VNA, whose support and care were greatly appreciated by all.
