Robert Vivian, a retired electical engineer, died in Brentwood. He was 77.

The native of Los Angeles lived in Redmond, Wash., before moving to Brentwood three years ago. He retired in 1983.

Affiliations and hobbies: Masonic lodge; boating and cars.

Military: Army Air Corps, World War II.

Survivors: Wife of 57 years, Lois; daughter, Kathy Prall of Fremont; sons, Charles Vivan of San Jose and Lowell Vivian of Fremont; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
