80, died October 18, 2001 at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo California.
He has been a resident of Vallejo for 39 years. He was born on February 1, 1921 in
Oakland California to the late May and Francis Conrad. Harold graduated from Oakland
High School in 1939 and entered an electrician apprenticeship with his Uncle Ralph
Conrad's electrical business. In 1942 Harold began working in the Bay Area's Naval
Shipyards as an amature winder. Harold served in both World War II and the Korean War.
In 1944 Harold married Audrey Farmer and in 1950, with his family, moved to Napa. In 1962
Harold moved to Vallejo. In 1966 Harold married Louise Jones. Louise died in 1978. In
1968, after 28 years of service, Harold retired from Mare Island Naval Shipyard. Harold
enjoyed outdoor activities and loved fishing and swimming in Northern California. He
especially enjoyed sailing. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Conrad of Oakland;
son, Jeffrey Conrad-Forrest and wife Lynne of Davis; step sons, Don and Roger Jones; and
grandchildren, Nathan, Adriana and Meridith Conrad-Forest. Family and Friends are invited
to attend a memorial placement service at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland
on December 4, 2001 at 1:00 PM.
