Block O Roberta Klindt Roberta Billig Green nee Klindt Resident of Moraga Roberta Green, 93, died Nov. 16, 2010 in Moraga. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Sherrie Billig McLetchie, son-in-law William McLetchie, and granddaughters Megan and Molly McLetchie. Other local relatives include niece Julie Peele, and her husband Bob, of Oakland, and nephew Robert S. Klindt of Fremont. Born in 1917 in west Oakland to Robert Klindt and Mary Ruth Llewellyn, Roberta attended Lafayette Elementary School and Oakland Junior High. She graduated from Oakland High School in 1935. Three years later, she married Eugene Billig. After Gene's death in 1955, Roberta became a deputy county clerk at the Alameda County Courthouse in Oakland. In 1961, she married David Green, who died in 1976. Roberta was a talented amateur seamstress who made her first dress at the age of 8. As a young woman her beauty caught the eye of a photographer who asked her to model for him. During her retirement, Roberta lived in Castro Valley and enjoyed baking pies and chocolate cookies for her granddaughters. She spent her final years in Moraga. Roberta was predeceased by her sister Luella Taves and her brother Robert W. Klindt. In memory of Roberta, the family suggests donations to the Salvation Army.
