Block O Claire Barbara Correa-Dutra "Doggy Grandma" Aug. 7, 1917 - Jan. 21, 2010

Resident of Fremont Claire was born in San Francisco, CA on August 7, 1917. She was the daughter of Frank and Marian Dutra. As a child Claire lived and attended St. Mary's of the Palms Boarding School in Mission San Jose, CA for two years. Then she went on to Oakland High School. She met and married Anthony Correa in 1933. She had two children Robert and Joyce. Claire always had a dream of having her own business. Her dream was to own and operate a boarding kennel for dogs. And with a lot of hard work her dream came true. They decided to call the kennel "Clairtone's" and it was located in Oakland, CA for over 40 years. She wanted the business to succeed and that it did, thanks to her. She loved her dogs and she was doing what she loved to do. She was quiet in nature with a gentle spirit. She asked little of life and never complained not even in the end. Claire learned to deal with whatever came her way. She was a devoted wife for over 60 years. She enjoyed her many trips to visit Hawaii to see the family. Claire and Tony traveled by bus to Reno to gamble. She loved playing the slots and Keno. She was a very lucky lady-some people say it runs in the family! Claire enjoyed being with her grandsons and family and loved listening to all of their adventures. She moved to Fremont after her husband died, she looked forward to a new adventure of her own. She moved to the Carlton Plaza and lived there happily for 11 ? years. She was the loving mother to Robert Correa and Ellie Allen, and Joyce Ramacciotti and her husband Dino. Grandmother to Anthony Ramacciotti and Toni, Michael Ramacciotti and Jacquie, and Robert Correa II. Great-grandma to Anthony Ramacciotti of the U.S. Marine Corps., Dominic Ramacciotti, Michael G. Ramacciotti "Blue Eyes", Robert III, Onjynea, Mareyah Correa. Sister to Evelyn Markovich, Ernest Dutra. Many nieces and nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her great-grandson, Vincent A. Ramacciotti. The family wishes to thank the nurses on 4 West at Washington Hospital, the loving care of Vitas Hospice, and the personal care staff of Carlton Plaza of Fremont.
