LEO RAY WALLACE, JR. Born December 10, 1916 in Des Moines, Iowa and died at the age of 86 on August 17, 2003 in Alameda, CA. He is survived by his wife, Fern, two sons, Larry Wallace (wife, Pat), James Wallace and two daughters, Diane Wallace and Linda Juhala (husband, Jerry), sister-in-law, Billie Wallace and twin nieces, Janet Thiry and Joyce Carr and their families. He has 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Ray was a graduate of Oakland High School. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII as chief electrician on a Victory ship. He began his own business, Wallace Electric, Inc., in Oakland in the late forties, retiring in 1987. He was a member of IBEW Local 595 for 60 years. He managed and maintained his own rental properties. He was a member of Sequoyah Community Church in Oakland. Graveside services were held August 21st for family members and close friends at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette. Memorial services will be held at Sequoyah Community Church, 4292 Keller Ave., Oakland on Saturday, September 6th at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sequoyah Community Church.
