Danville resident August J. (Jerry) Seiberlich, died at Bruns House in Alamo on Nov. 8 at the age of 91 after a year-long illness.
He was born in Oakland on May 21, 1916, to Augustus and Louise Seiberlich. While at Oakland High School, he participated in varsity sports and was an AAU boxer. Upon graduation, he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service until his enlistment in the Navy in 1942, where he served as a SeaBee in the Pacific Theater, including Iwo Jima.
After the war, the family moved to Contra Costa County and to Crow Canyon Country Club in Danville in 1992. He graduated from Golden Gate College with a degree in accounting and, after working for a CPA firm in San Francisco, he and his brother Gordon in 1954 formed what is today Seiberlich Accountancy Corp. He was a member for more than 50 years of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Masonic Live Oak Lodge No. 61 F.&.A.M., and the Aahmes Shriners A.A.O.N.M.S.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Eleanor; son Terry; brother Gordon; and five nephews and nieces. Graveside services with full military honors were held Nov. 28 at the Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery.
