Jean Ferguson Aronson, 91, a longtime resident of Palo Alto, died Jan. 20.

She was born in Fitchberg, Mass., and came to California in 1932.

After graduating from Oakland High School, she trained at Merritt Hospital and became a registered nurse in 1939.

She joined the Army Nurse Corps in 1940, where she met and married Steven Aronson. They were happily married for more than 65 years.

She is survived by her husband, Steven Aronson of Palo Alto; children, Steven Jr. of Scott's Valley and Peter M. Aronson of Eureka; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
