Jack Frankfurth

Born in San Francisco December 10, 1913 to Rose Mary Opala and Louise Gordon Frankfurth, immigrants from Czechoslovakia and Canada respectively. He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Jane Violet Kelly in 1992. He leaves behind his only child, Teresa Ann Frankfurth and his loving sister Mrs. Barbara Yager of Alameda and four generation's nieces and nephews.

Jack's Family moved to Oakland in 1916. He lived in Oakland for the rest of his life. He attended Bella Vista grammar School and graduated from Oakland High in 1932. He attended Armstrong Business College for a year and San Francisco School of Pharmacy for 2 years. He also attended Polytechnical School of Engineering and took classes in business at Cal Berkeley.

As a young man, Jack worked for the Consolidated Liquor and then during W. W. II he spent 16 months at Barbers Point in Hawaii by the Steveadore Bassat Co.

He married Jane in 1957.

He was a devoted and active member of the Seqoia Lodge #349 F &AM. He was also a member of the Oakland Scottish Rite. The Oakland Aames Temple of Shrines and Lake Merritt Chapter #4100 E.S. for over 20 years. Jack was a volunteer at the Senior Center at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Asention. He had a perfect attendance vale of every Thursday. Jack retired in 1976 from over 34 years as the ILWU Local #34. Jack was an active Union member in the old days and spent over 25 years at Pier 7 in Oakland. He also spent many a days tending his beautiful garden at Clemens and many days step climbing that hill. Steps that won't be missed by Hot Dog! We love you.
