HELEN M. AFFLECK MACE Born March 24, 1913 in Lewiston, Utah - Died March 31, 2003 at the age of 90 years of age at her home in San Leandro. She was a lifelong resident of Oakland and San Leandro. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ralph L. Mace in 2000. She is survived by her two daughters: Joyce Silva and her husband Lenard, of Sonora, and Karen Mace Umphred and her husband Edwin of Casa Grande, Az. Five Grandchildren: Christine Brawley of Nevada, Michael Silva of Sonora, Russell Silva of San Anselmo, April Coleman of N. Hollywood and Thomas Coleman of Chandler, AZ and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by Julia Afflek, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Helen was graduated in the class of 1932 from Oakland High School. She was a homemaker for 70 years and a member of the LDS church. She was a member of the Oakland Rod and Gun Club, Women's Aux. She enjoed gardening, traveling, camping, and fishing.
